Le cuivre-nickel C70600 et C71500 offre une excellente résistance à la corrosion, en particulier dans les environnements marins contenant de l'eau salée. Les principaux alliages forgés de cuivre-nickel choisis pour l'entretien de l'eau de mer contiennent 10 ou 30 pour cent de nickel. Ils présentent également des ajouts importants de fer et de manganèse qui sont nécessaires pour assurer une bonne résistance à la corrosion.
